  • On the Settings window, navigate to Accounts and then click on Sign-in options from the left-pane menu.
  • Now on the right-pane menu, click on the Windows Hello PIN option to expand its menu.
  • Now from its sub-menu, click on the I Forget my PIN option. It will open the Microsoft Account prompt with a confirmation message. Click on Continue and then follow the on-screen instruction after that.
  • Enter your Microsoft account’s password and then you can either use the old PIN or the option for setting a new PIN is also available.

FIX 2: Delete NGC folder and add a new PIN code:

  • Firstly, open File Explorer window by pressing WINDOWS + E and navigate to the following path:

C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC.

  • Now, navigate to the Ngc folder, press Ctrl + A to select all the content of the Ngc folder. Press the Delete key to empty the folder entirely.

  • Now close the Settings window and then restart your system.
  • After doing so, the “Windows Hello Pin Option Currently Unavailable” error might have resolved for you. You can check and confirm the same.

Fix 3: Use Registry Editor:

Before you begin with the fix, make sure you create a backup of all your files and folders.

  • Firstly, open the RUN dialogue box by pressing WINDOWS + R altogether.
  • In the empty text box type “regedit” and then click on OK. It will open the registry editor.
  • On the registry editor window, navigate to the following path,

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System

  • Locate the file named AllowDomainPINLogon and if it does not exist, do the follow:
  • Now on the right-pane menu right-click on the empty white space and click on New > DWORD (32 bit) value.
  • Now rename the file to AllowDomainPINLogon.
  • After that double-click AllowDomainPINLogon and set the value to 1.
  • Now close the registry editor and check if the issue is resolved or not.

FIX 4: Create a new Administrator account:

Alternatively, you can also set a new Administrator account and set up a new PIN. For doing so, follow the steps given below:

  • Firstly, open the Settings window by pressing WINDOWS + I altogether.
  • Now click on Accounts -> Family & other users -> Add someone else to this PC.
  • On the next prompt click the option I don’t have this person’s sign-in information.
  • Further in the create account section, click on the option Add a user without a Microsoft account.
  • On the next window, enter a Username, set a new password and then re-enter the same password to confirm.
  • Click on Next to complete the process.
  • Now logout of your current account and then login into this newly created account.
  • Here you can set a new PIN or use the old one as per your choice.
  • For that, first press the WINDOWS + I key altogether and open the Settings window.
  • Here navigate to Accounts and then click on the Sign-in options from the left-pane menu.
  • Click on Windows Hello PIN, and it will allow you to add a new PIN.
  • Click on the option Add, to add a new PIN. It will further open the Windows security prompt.
  • Here enter your Microsoft Account’s password and then click on OK.
  • Now on the next window, enter a new 4-digit PIN and then re-enter the same in the next adjoining box. After that click on OK.
  • Finally reboot your system and then use the newly set PIN during the login process. In case you do not see the PIN option, keep pressing Tab followed by the 4-digit PIN.
