Why you can’t log out of your Instagram account could be because there are some issues on Instagram’s server or a temporary bug has caused this problem. In any case, it will be worthing check out the solutions I’ve mentioned below.
Fix 1: Check Instagram Server Status
If there’s a problem with Instagram servers, you can face many issues such as freezing, crashing, or not being able to upload stories, videos, or photos. Some functions including Log Out may not work. Unfortunately, Instagram does not provide us a way to check the server status, but there are third-party tools such as Down Detector which can be used for this purpose.
If the website shows a huge spike in the graph, it means that many users are facing issues with Instagram. In such a case, you can’t do much. Just wait for Instagram to fix things and then you’ll be able to use Instagram without any issues.
Fix 2: Close Instagram and Reboot the Device
There might be a system glitch that you can fix by restarting the device. After you restart or reboot the device, the temporary cache gets cleaned and the background processes refresh.
Before you restart your device, make sure to close the Instagram app or the browser on which you were using Instagram.
Fix 3: Use a Different Browser
Sometimes the source of the problem is not Instagram, but the browser. You can skip this solution if you use the Instagram application. To make sure that there’s no problem with the browser, try a different browser and check if it spells out success for you.
Fix 4: Clear Instagram App Cache
All applications including Instagram store cache data for faster access. Sometimes it can be the source of the problem, which you might be facing currently. I would recommend you clear the Instagram cache and check if the issue persists.
Clearing the cache memory does not remove any important data on your phone. So, you can try this solution without any hesitation. To remove cache memory, open Settings, go to Application Manager, tap on Instagram, and click the Clear Cache option.

A software bug can cause many problems. Instagram developers keep working on new bugs and fix them by releasing a new software version. Hence, it’s recommended to keep all the apps up to date. You can easily update the Instagram app through Google Play Store or App Store.
I hope that this guide was helpful to you. Even after applying all the fixes, if you can not log out of your Instagram account, simply uninstall the app. All the accounts logged in on the Instagram app will be removed.
