1. Restart Wi-Fi Router

First of all, you should try restarting your Wi-Fi router normally in order to clear out the temporary system glitch or cache data issue. Although some of the affected users may not prefer it as a solution, you should try it out. It basically fixes a lot of unexpected errors or connectivity issues easily.

However, if the problem persists, make sure to perform the power cycle to your router.

  • Switch off the router and wait until LED indicators turned off.
  • Now, disconnect the power cable from the router.
  • Wait for around 30 seconds and plug back the power cable into the router.
  • Finally, connect to the Wi-Fi network, and check for the issue.

2. Disable Smart Network Switch

It’s one of the most common reasons for a network connectivity issue. Android’s Smart Network Switch feature basically allows the mobile device to make the switch from a Wi-Fi Network to Mobile Data automatically if the connection isn’t stable or fast enough. Additionally, if your Wi-Fi network doesn’t have active internet data, Android’s Smart Network Switch will start using mobile data.

  • Make sure that you’re using the same Android device that has Alexa app installed.
  • Go to device Settings > Tap on Wi-Fi.
  • Go to Wi-Fi Settings or Advanced > Turn off the Smart Network Switch toggle.
  • Once done, you can check for the issue.

3. Reset Your Wi-Fi Router

  • Keep running your Wi-Fi router. That’s important.
  • Now, you can use a paperclip or a pin to long-press the physical Reset button/pinhole at the backside of the router.
  • Just long-press the Reset button for around 10-15 seconds until the LED indicators start blinking again.
  • Release the Reset button and restart your router to apply changes.
  • Then set up the networking configuration on your router’s admin panel and connect to the network again.
  • Finally, check whether the problem has been fixed or not.

4. Change Router’s Security Type

The chances are high that you’ve configured your router with both WPA + WPA2 security protocols. In this case, your connected IoT devices may start conflicting issues with the network or internet connection. Not to worry as you can easily fix this issue by selecting only one security protocol by following the steps below.

  • Make sure to check your router’s back side to get URL.
  • Visit the URL from your browser and input the default admin & password.
  • Once you’re logged in to your router’s admin panel, go to Wireless Settings.
  • Select Advanced > Here you can choose either WPA or WPA2 security protocol. [select only one]
  • Finally, save changes > Set Encryption to AES.
  • You’re done.

5. Update Bluetooth Driver

  • Press Windows + X keys to open the Quick Start Menu.

  • Now, select Device Manager > Double-click on Bluetooth to expand it.

  • Right-click on the Bluetooth device and select Update driver.

  • Click on Search automatically for drivers. If there is an update available, it’ll automatically download and install the update.

  • Once done, make sure to restart your computer to apply changes.

6. Update Network Driver

Similarly, make sure to updating Network Driver on your Windows computer in order to fix any kind of possible bugs or connectivity issues. To do that:

  • Press Windows + X keys to open the Quick Start Menu.
  • Now, select Device Manager > Double-click on Network adapters to expand it.
