- First of all, open the Registry Editor from the Start menu by typing ‘regedit‘.
- Click on the Registry Editor to open it.
- You will see a left sidebar containing a bunch of options.
- Just copy and paste the following address into the address bar of the Registry Editor.
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power
- Now, you will need to delete these two entries – EnergyEstimationDisabled and UserBatteryDischargeEstimator.
- In order to do that, just follow the below steps:
- Right-click on the EnergyEstimationDisabled entry and click on Delete.
- Confirm the task by selecting Yes.
- Similarly, you will need to do this for UserBatteryDischargeEstimator.
- Now, right-click on the Power option from the left pane.
- Select New > and click on DWORD (32-bit) Value.
- Rename the newly created value to EnergyEstimationEnabled.
- Double-click on the renamed value and check the value data is set to 1.
- Next, click on the OK button.
- You’re done. Close the Registry Editor and reboot your computer.
- Finally, you will see the remaining battery time status on your Windows 10 Laptop whenever you move the mouse cursor over the battery icon on the taskbar.
